Schilpario siede a 1135 m. s.l.m. ed è uno dei borghi della Val di Scalve. Un luogo ricco di storia, sapori e tradizioni, incastonato nella cornice naturale delle Orobie Bergamasche e posto all’ingresso di un’affascinante abetaia, che permette al paese di respirare una preziosissima aria frizzante che profuma di montagna. La posizione ambientale e paesaggistica straordinaria, ha fatto di Schilpario una meta turistica fra le più apprezzate degli appassionati di montagna.
D’inverno un silenzioso manto bianco ricopre l’intero territorio e l’affascinate abetaia si trasforma nella splendida Pista degli Abeti. Un ampio campo scuola servito da ski-lift vi aspetta per imparare a sciare in tutta sicurezza e seguiti da maestri di sci. Oppure potete salire in quota per praticare scialpinismo o ciaspole, in modo da raggiungere panorami che lasciano a bocca aperta. Infine, scalate il ghiaccio nelle numerose cascate che il freddo trasforma in enormi stalattiti.
L’estate è meta ambita di escursioni nelle Orobie Bergamasche. Dal paese partono diversi sentieri che sovrastano l’intera Val di Scalve e portano ai rifugi Tagliaferri, Vivione e Campione. Anche percorsi ciclabili o a cavallo contribuiscono ad arricchire l’offerta turistica. Inoltre il campo di pattinaggio a rotelle, le manifestazioni folkloristiche in piazza, e le visite alle vecchie miniere di ferro permettono di apprendere parte della storia recente del territorio.

In winter, a silent white blanket covers the entire area, and the enchanting fir forest is transformed into the beautiful Pista degli Abeti. A large ski school field served by a ski-lift awaits you to learn how to ski in complete safety, under the guidance of skiing instructors. Alternatively, you can head to higher altitudes for ski mountaineering or snowshoeing, reaching breathtaking panoramic views. Finally, you can ice climb on the numerous waterfalls that the cold transforms into enormous stalactites.
In summer, Schilpario is a popular destination for hikers. Several trails depart from the village, overlooking the entire Val di Scalve, and lead to the Tagliaferri, Vivione, and Campione refuges. Cycling and horseback riding routes also contribute to enriching the tourist offer. Additionally, the roller skating rink, folk festivals in the square, and visits to the old iron mines and to the Etnographic museum provide the opportunity to learn about part of the area’s recent history.
