Streams for fishing
For adventure enthusiasts who enjoy exploring nature, here is a list of some interesting tributaries for fishing.
Rino Stream
From the village of Dezzo (left bank when looking upstream), follow the mule track alongside the stream up to the town of Colere (entrance via Via De O’).
Difficulty: easy, but with low water. Fishing options: bottom fishing, spinning, or fly fishing.
Val Giogna Stream
From Dezzo, head to the bank on the Azzone side, crossing the bridge to the Dosso hamlet, then continue toward Borno (BS) for about 1 km.
Difficulty: moderate, with low water. Fishing options: bottom fishing or spinning.
Povo Stream
From Ponte Formello, follow the road along the industrial area to reach the stream. You can follow the right bank upstream toward Bueggio and continue all the way to the Gleno Dam (700 meters of elevation gain).
Difficulty: easy at the lower section; as you move upstream toward Bueggio and the Dam, it becomes first difficult and then nearly impossible near the waterfall below the barrier. Overall, a beautiful stream with a decent water flow. Fishing options: bottom fishing or spinning.
Nembo Stream
In Ponte Formello, follow the road alongside the Vilminore industrial area to reach the Povo stream. After crossing it, follow the road running parallel to Nembo Stream. Upstream, you reach the village of Teveno.
Difficulty: easy at first, increasing as you move upstream. After crossing the Teveno bridge, it becomes difficult. Unfortunately, in many periods the water level is very low. Fishing option: bottom fishing.
Tino Stream
Following the provincial road connecting Dezzolo with Barzesto, you pass the Tino Stream. You can descend toward the Dezzo River or head upstream toward Vilmaggiore, located a few hundred meters above the stream. Access to the river is easy thanks to the road bridge crossing it.
Difficulty: moderate, with a decent water flow. Fishing options: bottom fishing or spinning.
Gaffione Stream
Reach it by going to Fondi di Schilpario, where the A. Bonicelli Mining Park is located. You can follow the stream upstream to the Vivione Pass. Parking is easy in the large nearby lots. Access is directly from the road, following the stream as it flows into the Dezzo River just downstream.
This stream is recommended only for experts due to its hazards and high difficulty in ascending the tributary. Fishing option: bottom fishing, with low water during dry periods.
