Ca’ di Ach

Attualmente la struttura è ancora in fase di ristrutturazione, e chiusa per quanto riguarda ospitalità e pernottamento, L’associazione è comunque attiva nella promozione di eventi e attività.

The Friends of Nature Association was founded over 100 years ago and now includes more than 1200 houses around the world.

The Friends of Nature houses offer the chance for a pleasant experience of community life in a friendly atmosphere and in close contact with nature. The cost of staying is low because our facilities are not conducted for profit.

The structure:

Ca’ di Ach is located in the village of Schilpario, with a large outdoor parking area. A large garden with a vegetable garden shaded by trees surrounds the entire house and is available to guests. The house has been a part of the International Friends of Nature network for three years. To stay and participate in the activities, you need an annual membership card costing €15, which is valid at all network facilities. There is a kitchen available to guests. As the house is self-managed, the members who use it are expected to keep it clean and tidy. From the house starts the path to reach the Pizzo Camino and the Corna Buca, the structure is also a good base for various trips

The spaces:

There are about ten beds, divided between two bedrooms, and a double sofa bed in the large living room in front of the fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and a common room for meetings and workshops.
Our favorite space is definitely the large garden that surrounds the house.
Come visit us to hear about our ideas or propose new ones!

Ca’ di Ach is located in Schilpario, a small village nestled in the mountains of the Val di Scalve. Like the other houses of the association, it aims to be a place for international and cultural exchange, with an ecological and educational spirit, promoting the protection and enhancement of the territory.

Activities offered by Ca’ di Ach:

  • Hikes on the trails of the valley
  • Self-financed lunches and dinners
  • Yoga courses for adults and children
  • Recognition of edible herbs and preparation of syrups and oleolites, collections of various kinds based on what nature offers in the various seasons
  • Self-production workshops
  • Artistic workshops for adults and children

Among the many activities there are mountain hikes, yoga, gardening and arts, wild herb recognition, self-production classes and creative workshops for both children and adults.

The project:

It was born in 2016 from a series of fortunate coincidences and important meetings. After a journey of change and growth, the house is now managed by a group of five friends – Sara, Mara, Maria, Patty, and Italo, who are intent on making people aware of the surrounding nature, rediscovering the core values of small mountain communities and their traditions, experimenting with self-production as a form of social life, and welcoming everything that can enrich us and promote exchanges with realities that share the same values.

Our dream:

To transform an old house into a self-managed meeting place not only for travelers but also for the residents of the valleys; to create a colourful, lively space to stay, relax, live together, and give birth to ideas and put them into practice, because it is thanks to meeting others that you can always have new points of view.
