official website <\/a><\/p>\nAn extraordinary sculptor, born and died in the small hamlet of Nona di Scalve, he grew up at the Ramus school and was a contemporary of Andrea Fantoni. His works are scattered throughout numerous churches in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, and Sondrio. But they can also be found in the private chapel of Count Borromeo, on Isola Bella on Lake Maggiore, where the masterpiece \u201cIl naufragio dei discepoli\u201d (The Shipwreck of the Disciples) still stands today.
\nA few years ago, the discovery in the archives of the Diocese of Bergamo of an autographed manuscript in which Piccini wrote a list of the main works of his artistic career allowed for the correct attribution of some of his masterpieces, including the kneeler on display at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan, which until then had been attributed to Andrea Fantoni.<\/p>\n
