Rules for fishing Val di Scalve

Throughout the Val di Scalve, free fishing is permitted with a type B recreational fishing license, mandatory for people aged 18 to 65 [2026 update].
The main catch is brown trout, but rainbow trout, marble trout, and both alpine and brook char can also be found (especially at the Gleno Dam). Please note that in Schilpario there is an area where fishing is strictly prohibited (for details, HERE).

Regarding fishing periods, permitted species, and restricted areas, the regulations set out in the 2022 regional regulation are still in force.

How to obtain a fishing license

The type B recreational fishing license – mandatory for people aged 18 to 65 – can be purchased on the Pagamenti in Lombardia platform, accessible > HERE < (note: confirm the cookies already automatically selected by the system).

Here are the detailed instructions on how to proceed with the purchase:

  1. in the “Search Entity” field, type “Regione Lombardia” and press “Search“;
  2. by clicking on the Regione Lombardia icon, the complete list of available payments for the entity will open: select “Fishing license“;
  3. by selecting the language in the first row (“Lingua/Language“), the form will become active for completion;
  4. once the form has been completed, proceed with the payment.
    1. click “Add to cart” and “Go to cart” (the cart can also be accessed via the icon located in the green bar at the top of the page);
    2. fill in the “Payer details” (if the person paying is the same as the license holder, check the box “Fill in the form with the holder’s details“);
    3. at this point, you can choose to proceed either with online payment (button “Next“) or with “Print payment notice” to complete the payment via PagoPA slip at banks, post offices, or other platforms.

The payment receipt obtained in this way constitutes proof of possession of the fishing license.
