Museo dei Minerali e dei Fossili
Located inside Hotel San Marco in the Pradella hamlet (about 2 km from Schilpario), the Museum of Minerals and Fossils is the result of the passion and years of research of collector Antonio Pizio.
The fascinating exhibition is arranged along well-lit display cases, allowing visitors to explore the geological history of the Val di Scalve and the Bergamasque mountains.
Despite its local origins, the collection features valuable specimens.
Among the minerals, the most interesting are certainly the germinated aragonites typical of the Schilpario Mines, the beautiful Adamello tourmalines and the Zogno fluorites.
Among the fossils, primarily discovered in Presolana and the Schilpario area, one of the most interesting pieces is a 240-million-year-old nautiloid.
