Civic Tower of Azzone
In the center of the village of Azzone, above the town hall, stands the Civic Tower of medieval origin, dating back to the 14th century and recently restored.
About 15 meters high, it is built with squared stones arranged in regular courses and is the main figure in the coat of arms of the Municipality of Azzone. The sundial and the small bell have marked both time and the history of our villages.
The Civic Tower, of high historical and architectural interest, is used for cultural events and can be visited by appointment at the municipal offices.
MINIATURE EXHIBITION
Since August 2019, the Civic Tower of Azzone hosts a permanent exhibition of miniatures created by Edoardo Bettoni, unique for their meticulousness and abundance of details.
Made mainly from wood, sand, and plaster, the models are the result of 14 years of work and represent – in 1:25 scale – the main places of interest in Azzone and beyond. From the square with the washhouse to the Dezzo Tower, from the Civic Tower itself to the Palazzo Pretorio in Vilminore and the Sanctuary of the Madonnina in Dezzo.
