Andrea Bonicelli Mining Park

This is an fascinating journey that reveals the tough reality faced by several generations of miners, highlighting the effort of their labor. 

Since 1997, Ski-Mine has been working to recover the mining history and culture of the Val di Scalve for future generations. To achieve this goal, several museum itineraries have been created inside the old abandoned tunnels in the Schilpario mines, as part of the “Parco Minerario Ing. Andrea Bonicelli”.

The routes potentially stretch for kilometers and across multiple levels. The routes are equipped with electric lightning, and visitors start the tour aboard a fantastic little train that runs on the old tracks once used to transport minerals. The mine tour then continues on foot, accompanied by guides.

These guides will also illustrate a very interesting photographic documentation showing the hard work of miners in contact with the mountain and its depths. Finally, they will explain the functioning of tools and objects used in the mining process, contextualizing them within the hard life of miners.

Tickets:

• €10 per person
• €8 reduced (ages 4 to 13)
• For groups (e.g., summer camps, parishes) over 50 people: €8 per person (1 free entry for every 10 paying)
• For schools: €10 per person (teachers free)
• Educational workshops for schools: €5 per person (teachers free)

All’interno delle miniere, la temperatura e il clima possono essere molto diversi da quelli esterni: si raccomandano una giacca impermeabile e calzature adatte.
