Gleno Alpine Arboretum
In the municipality of Vilminore di Scalve, thanks to the efforts of several botany enthusiasts, an exhibition garden has been established for several years, featuring descriptive panels of local plant species planted since the early 2000s.
The exhibition, covering approximately 6,000 square meters, hosts the tree species found in Val di Scalve, along with a rich collection of plants and shrubs: nearly 100 trees are highlighted. The Arboretum includes a room equipped for educational activities and seminars, a picnic area, and even a wood-fired oven. Visitors and school groups requesting a guided tour are accompanied by qualified staff.
The Gleno Alpine Arboretum, located near the trails leading to the dam, is open during the spring and summer seasons. It also often organizes events and social activities related to promoting local culture and traditions, as well as educating visitors about native tree species.
